Le président soudanais Omar el-Béchir a adressé samedi une mise en garde aux Occidentaux afin qu’ils ne cherchent pas à résoudre la crise du Darfour comme ils ont agi en Irak. L’Occident a fait du “battage” autour de la crise du Darfour en raison de son intérêt pour le pétrole dont regorge le Soudan, a déclaré le président Béchir, interviewé à Khartoum par satellite par la presse depuis Accra au Ghana, où se déroule ce dimanche et pour trois jours le sommet de l’Union africaine. Omar el-Béchir a annulé sa participation à ce sommet en raison du deuil observé dans son pays à la suite de la mort accidentelle de l’un de ses conseillers. “Les Etats-Unis ont l’intention de faire au Soudan les mêmes erreurs qu’ils ont commises en Irak”, a poursuivi Omar el-Béchir. Selon lui, la plus grande partie du Darfour “est sécurisée”. “La situation sur le terrain s’améliore et les personnes déplacées retournent volontairement dans leur village”. “Les seules exactions commises désormais au Darfour sont des exactions normales tels que des vols et la police fait de son mieux pour les faire régresser”, a encore affirmé le président soudanais. Le conflit au Darfour à l’ouest du Soudan, entre les rebelles issus des populations locales noires, qui réclament un partage équitable des ressources et plus d’autonomie pour leur région, et les milices arabes soutenues par l’armée soudanaise, a fait 200.000 morts depuis février 2003 et plus de 2,1 millions de déplacés, selon des organisations internationales. Ces chiffres sont contestés par le régime de Khartoum. Le Soudan a accepté le 12 juin sans condition une force hybride qui consiste à remplacer celle de l’Union africaine au Darfour, composée de 7.000 hommes et jugée inefficace parce que mal armée et sous financée par une force robuste de plus de 20.000 hommes avec la participation de l ONU.

La proposition de Mahmoud Abbas concernant le déploiement des forces internationales dans la Bande de Gaza n’a pas tardé de provoquer des remous : la branche armée du Hamas vient de mettre en garde contre cette proposition avant de souligner qu’en cas de son application, elle n’hésiterait pas à traiter les forces internationales à titre d’occupants. Lors de sa récente visite en France, Abbas a mis en avant l’idée de l’envoi des forces internationales du maintien de la paix afin d’assurer, a-t-il dit, la sécurité des futures élections. Les opposants aux politiques de Mahmoud Abbas estiment que l’objectif du déploiement des forces internationales dans la Bande de Gaza n’est rien d’autre que d’affaiblir le Hamas et de semer la discorde entre les Palestiniens. L’Union européenne, l’ONU et le régime sioniste ont annoncé qu’ils examineraient la question, annonce que les diplomates occidentaux ont accueillie avec une certaine réserve. En effet, après le coup d’Etat du Fatah contre le parlement et le gouvernement élu et populaire du Hamas, son chef, Mahmoud Abbas cherche à reserrer l’étau autour de la Résistance au risque d’exposer non seulement la Bande de Gaza mais aussi la Cisjordanie à l’aventurisme du régime sioniste. Les attaques de ces derniers jours de ce régime contre la Cisjordanie devraient pourtant l’alerter du fait qu’il n’intéresse réellement les sionistes que dans la mesure où il exécute leurs politiques. L’intéressant est cette précision portée par la ministre israélienne des Affaires Etrangères Tzipi Livni qui vient d’affirmer avec une franchise inégalable que les forces internationales devaient agir dans le stricte cadre des objectifs tracés par Tel-Aviv qui, on le sait, visent à réprimer le Hamas. Le triangle Etats-Unis-Europe-régime sioniste cherche à contrôler la Bande de Gaza sous couverture d’une force de maintien de la paix , objectif contre quoi ont mis en garde le Hamas mais aussi toutes les groupes antisionistes y compris les brigades des martyrs d’Al Aqsa, branche armée du Fatah. Mais de toute évidence, Abbas, en choisissant de tourner le dos à son peuple a pris le mauvais chemin, celui qui ne mène ni à la paix ni à la sécurité mais à la prolongation illimitée de la tutelle sioniste. L’Occident et notamment les Etats-Unis ont laissé seul le peuple palestinien au plus fort des attaques barbares du régime sioniste contre la Bande de Gaza. Cette attidue a définitivement ébranlé la confiance des palestiniens à leur égard et c’est avec cette défiance qu’ils abordent aujourd’hui l’idée du déploiement des forces internationales en Cisjordanie. De cette méfiance, le Hamas a donné d’ailleurs un petit écho en qualifiant ce déploiement de complot visant à effacer l’identité palestinienne de la Bande de Gaza.

La signature des traités et conventions internationales et l’ouverture des sites nucléaires à l’Aiea ont tranquillisé la communauté internationale.

Selon M.Sucher Clayton, les Israéliens ont fourni de «fausses informations» sur le programme nucléaire algérien au département d’Etat américain. L’objectif étant de «semer le doute sur le caractère civil de ce programme», et d’avorter toute tentative venant de la part des Occidentaux de développer la coopération dans ce domaine avec notre pays.

Le journal britannique The Sunday Times, qui, citant des sources proches de l’Aiea a accusé l’Algérie avec cinq autres pays arabes de vouloir développer la bombe atomique. La presse américaine n’a pas échappé à ce vent de polémique provenant de Tel-Aviv. Dans la revue The National Review, Henry Sokolski, qui a publié un ouvrage intitulé America’s Campaign Against Strategic Weapons Proliferation (La campagne américaine contre la prolifération des armes stratégiques), a plaidé pour «la nécessité» de stopper les programmes nucléaires de la Corée du Nord, de l’Iran, de la Syrie, du Pakistan, de l’Arabie Saoudite et de l’Algérie, parce qu’ils constituent un danger pour l’humanité.

L’Algérie, selon un autre organe de presse américain, a tenté, avec l’Irak «de fabriquer une bombe atomique islamique». Sur le terrain, cela s’est traduit par l’ouverture de deux réacteurs nucléaires expérimentaux (3 et 15 mégawatts). Nour, installé à Draria (Alger) et le second, Essalem à Birine, aux inspecteurs de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique (Aiea). M. L’occasion pour l’invité d’Al Jazeera de faire la distinction entre les deux programmes. «L’Algérie s’échine à développer un programme pacifique contrairement à l’Iran qui ne cesse de défier la communauté internationale», a-t-il précisé. Notons qu’un avant-projet de loi sur le nucléaire sera soumis au conseil de gouvernement, prochainement. Ce texte prévoit la création d’une «Agence de sûreté et de sécurité nucléaires».

I watched the scenery, what was going on, what the American government-

The forty-seven story building that wasn’t even hit by an aircraft. This just broke two weeks ago, have you heard this?
AvB: Sure, I have heard this. I follow the whole scenery. Normally, it’s coming out in Germany, but it’s coming out in your country. It’s a fascinating background to, to do research via Internet because all this stuff is broadly spread over the Internet. So it’s very easy to follow, but in the main media you don’t get to hear about this.

AJ: Well tell you what, later this hour, it’s only three minutes of audio clips, we will air from the PBS documentary ‘America Rebuilding,’ where they admit they blew up WTC 7. Now, that’s important because they said that building fell from fire even though it wasn’t hit by a plane. And now, he slips up cc81b33ceabd37ea37d3a2b3aade6870 says we decided to demolish it on 9-11, but then the mainstream media just ignores that. This is a public admission, sir.

AvB: This is one theory, it might be. It’s convincing but one has to get the whole proof. But the problem is that the elements for proof are destroyed.

Baghdad – The Iraqi Islamic Party, a Sunni political faction in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s cabinet, published a statement on Sunday alleging that more than 350 people have been killed by a US military operation in Baquba to hunt down al-Qaeda-affiliated members.

They termed the operations ‘collective punishment’ in Baquba, the capital of Diyala province which lies 57 kilometres north-east of Baghdad.

‘Neighbourhoods in western Baquba have witnessed, since last week, fierce attacks by occupation forces within Operation Arrowhead Ripper,’ the party said in a statement received by the independent news agency Voices of Iraq.

‘The forces shelled these neighbourhoods with helicopters, destroying more than 150 houses and killing more than 350 citizens, their bodies still under wreckage, in addition to arresting scores of citizens,’ the statement added.

Witnesses claim a village in British-run Helmand was bombed for three hours after the Taliban attempted to ambush a US-Afghan army convoy

Air strikes in the British-controlled Helmand province of Afghanistan may have killed civilians, coalition troops said yesterday as local people claimed that between 50 and 80 people, many of them women and children, had died.
In the latest of a series of attacks causing significant civilian casualties in recent weeks, more than 200 were killed by coalition troops in Afghanistan in June, far more than are believed to have been killed by Taliban militants.

The bombardment, which witnesses said lasted up to three hours, in the Gereshk district late on Friday followed an attempted ambush by the Taliban on a joint US-Afghan military convoy. According to Mohammad Hussein, the provincial police chief, the militants fled into a nearby village for cover. Planes then targeted the village of Hyderabad. Mohammad Khan, a resident of the village, said seven members of his family, including his brother and five of his brother’s children, were killed.
‘I brought three of my wounded relatives to Gereshk hospital for treatment,’ he told the Associated Press news agency by phone. The villagers were yesterday burying a ‘lot of dead bodies’, Khan said.

He spoke as American forces in Iraq also found themselves heavily criticised over civilian deaths when eight people died, apparently caught in crossfire from a gunfight between insurgents and soldiers in Baghdad’s Sadr City yesterday. But residents, police and hospital officials said eight civilians were killed in their homes and angrily accused US forces of firing blindly on innocent people. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki condemned the raids and demanded an explanation for the assault on a district where he has barred American operations in the past.

In Afghanistan, the civilian deaths caused by US and Nato-led troops have infuriated local people and prompted President Hamid Karzai to publicly condemn foreign forces for careless ‘use of extreme force’ and for viewing Afghan lives as ‘cheap’. The increasingly fragile President has urged restraint and better co-ordination of military operations with the Afghan government, while also blaming the Taliban for using civilians as human shields.

Ban Ki-Moon, the United Nations Secretary-General, raised the issue of civilian casualties on a four-hour visit to Afghanistan on Friday on which he met the senior Nato commander there, the American General Dan McNeill.

Senior British soldiers have previously expressed concerns that McNeill, who took command of the 32,000 Nato troops in Afghanistan only recently, was ‘a fan’ of the massive use of air power to defeat insurgents and that his favoured tactics could be counter-productive.

‘Every civilian dead means five new Taliban,’ said one British officer who has recently returned from Helmand. ‘It’s a tough call when the enemy are hiding in villages, but you have to be very, very careful,’ he added.

The American general has been dubbed ‘Bomber McNeill’ by his critics.

But Nato has ‘never killed and will never intentionally kill innocent civilians’, its secretary-general, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, told a conference in Macedonia on Friday. ‘The majority of civilian casualties in Afghanistan have been caused by Taliban suicide bombs and roadside bombs.’

US Air Force Major John Thomas said that, after a long skirmish and under constant fire from the Taliban, troops of Isaf (the International Security Assistance Force), called for close air force support during an operation in Helmand, where the Taliban have been resurgent this year.

‘All enemy positions were destroyed, but after friendly forces surveyed the area, there were reports of some possible civilian deaths,’ Thomas said.

‘The remains of some people who appeared to be civilians were found among enemy fighters in a trench line,’ he added. The level of violence has soared in Afghanistan, with more than 2,800 people – mostly Taliban fighters – killed in fighting this year, according to an Associated Press tally of figures issued in the last few days by Western military and Afghan officials.

A count by the United Nations and an umbrella organisation of Afghan and international aid groups shows the number of civilians killed by international forces was slightly greater than the number killed by insurgents in the first half of the year.

In Helmand’s Sangin district, Nato-led and Afghan troops clashed with Taliban fighters on Friday, leaving 15 of the militants dead, said Ezatullah Khan, a district chief. Helmand is the primary area of operations for the British troops deployed in Afghanistan.

There were no casualties among Nato and Afghan troops, the official said.

More than 3,000 British troops have been deployed in Helmand to combat both the Taliban and the drugs trade. Also in the south, two suspected Taliban members were killed while trying to place a homemade bomb on the side of a road in Zhari district of Kandahar province on Friday, said Ghulam Rasool, the district’s police chief.

Three children were also killed on Friday and another wounded when an old rocket they were playing with exploded in Zabul province in the south, said General Yaqoub Khan, the provincial police chief.

They didn’t simply bomb once. They did it for three hours.

It wasn’t one building or four, but a whole village.

They succeeded in killing one hundred civilians, and didn’t even have the courtesy to exterminate themselves in the process. Meanwhile, the ongoing terrorist assault on Baquba has reportedly killed 350 people, and a homicide attack on Sadr City (at last, a use for that ridiculous phrase!), has killed 26 people.

In other news, Blair’s message to Muslims: “No one’s oppressing you.”

Read this carefully. There isn’t actually any proof that this was a terror attack and not a car accident. They won’t even say what the “suspect device” really was. Probably a butane lighter and everyone over-reacted.

The only “link” between Glasgow and London is that one of the cars used in London had come from Scotland. That’s pretty weak. You could not go into court with that.

So, what are the facts?

The car shows no signs of explosion, only fire. The roof is still flat, the window dividers still in place in their frames. There has been no blast of any kind in that car.

Despite early reports of the car driving extremely fast, it’s established that the car was driving at about 30MPH, which is far slower than one associates with a terror attack, but normal for someone rushing to get a friend to a flight.

Which brings us to the fact that TWO men were in the car. Now, a man willing to kill himself to deliver a bomb is a rare and valuable commodity; you just don’t waste TWO of them in the same car bomb.

Finally, the uninjured man REMAINED AT THE SCENE until arrested. Does that sound like a terrorist to you?

ANKARA (AFP) – Trois femmes sont mortes vendredi soir dans le centre de la Turquie après avoir été mordues par des tiques porteuses de la fièvre hémorragique virale Crimée-Congo, a rapporté samedi l’agence de presse Anatolie.

Ces décès, survenus dans le service des maladies infectieuses d’un hôpital de Sivas, portent à au moins 14 le nombre de victimes de la maladie en 2007, selon Anatolie. Le nombre de décès dus à la fièvre Crimée-Congo n’a cessé de progresser en Turquie depuis l’apparition en 2003 de cette maladie causée par un virus cousin de celui d’Ebola. Ils est passé de six morts en 2003 à 27 morts l’an dernier, essentiellement en Anatolie centrale. Environ 5% des cas sont mortels. Cette fièvre, pour laquelle il n’existe pas de traitement, a été décrite pour la première fois en 1944 en Crimée -sur la rive nord de la mer Noire, qui baigne également la Turquie. En 1969, on a établi que l’agent pathogène en cause était identique à celui qui provoquait une maladie repérée en 1956 au Congo.
